During her years as a student at Central Saint Martins, Stella McCartney was tutored in the foundations of British fashion by iconic Savile Row tailor Edward Sexton – her father’s celebrated suit-maker. Inspired by her parents’ stage-wear and shared closet, she has continued to build ageless, genderless and fluid collections around designer tailoring ever since her runway debut in 2002.
Playing with proportions and a variety of color palettes, Stella crafts fitted double-breasted blazers cinched with vegan harnesses over explosive, voluminous A-line pants, or creates perfectly matched women's tailored pant suits. Her classic women’s designer suits are considered in construction; the blazers sharply tailored with strong shoulders, paired with pleated designer trousers. This entire collection of womens tailored suits is an example of sustainable tailoring, crafted with certified materials like forest-friendly viscose and RWS wool.
