Viola Davis wears custom Stella McCartney dress at BAFTA Awards 2023
Viola Davis wore a custom Stella McCartney gown at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards, an homage to her work and Leading Actress BAFTA nomination for The Woman King.
A celebration of creative forces, the custom violet gown was handcrafted at our London atelier and inspired by our Summer 2023 runway collection.
The floor-length gown is consciously crafted from cellulose acetate in royal amethyst – a luxurious and versatile fabric, made of traceable wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. For evening decadence, we hand-embroidered it all over with lead-free crystals and reinterpreted a cape sleeve silhouette from our runway collection.
As a designer, there’s nothing more important for me than having the women I dress be comfortable and to reflect who they are through what they’re wearing. To be part of such a special occasion at the BAFTAs in some small way is something that makes us incredibly proud.
