Kendall Jenner: Model, horse lover and our Winter 2023 Stella girl

Kendall Jenner is a lifelong horse lover, avid equestrian and next-gen voice – creating a natural synergy as the face of our Winter 2023 campaign. That is why she was hand-selected by Stella herself to be our new Stella girl.

Winter 2023 celebrates an inherent love and deep respect for animals, harnessing the extraordinary and healing power of horses. A self-professed ‘cowgirl’, Kendall got her first pony and fell in love with horse-riding aged 10 and has lived, breathed and dreamed about the incredible creatures ever since – even once aspiring to become a professional equestrian. Her favourite childhood moments were spent at ranches and, today, she loves spending rare downtime at a stable in Bell Canyon near her hometown of Calabasas.

For our Winter 2023 campaign, Kendall Jenner is captured at the Camargue Salt Flats in the South of France by Harley Weir. Magnificently peaceful and stridently powerful, the images are empowered by free horses provided by renowned horse whisperer Jean-François Pignon – trained in a cruelty-free way and native to the region.

Meet Kendall

Why do you connect with Stella and her values?

“Stella always looks far ahead into the future and sees clear goals that we should strive for and towards together.”

The Winter 2023 collection is inspired by the healing power of horses, pulled from Stella’s own lifelong relationship with these creatures. What role have horses played in your life?

“Horses have a strength that is almost hard for humans to understand and, even though I can’t communicate with them directly, I feel that the ones I have cared for have always lent that strength to me. They are great reminders that Mother Nature connects all of us deep within.”

What is so magical and healing about the relationship between humans and horses?

“Humans and horses have been reliable partners throughout history and that mutual trust over time is probably why our connection is so powerful.”

When you are around horses, how do they make you feel? Why do you love them so much?

“Empowered and encouraged. They’ve always helped to relieve me from any imbalances or stress – having them as companions is the best.”

Is there a horse you’ve had a particularly special or transformative relationship with?

“Growing up, I had a special bond with a horse named Ladybug and I will always have a special place for her in my heart. She taught me so much as such a young age.

Dylandra, one of my horses, has also had a profound effect on me – she and I have a marked trust.”

What was it like to shoot with Jean-François Pignon’s horses in France?

“Being able to witness, experience and work with Jean-François and his horses was incredible. I’ve never been that intimate with horses that are trained this way. It was such a memorable experience for me.”

What were your favourite moments from our shoot?

“There was a shot that we did at the end of the day, where I was able to lay on the ground with a horse and it was so peaceful, so powerfully still.”

Of the Winter 2023 pieces that you wore, which were your favourites?

“I loved my all-red moment, as well as my vest and trouser moment.”

How does what you wear help you to express yourself and your values?

“Clothes are always an immediate reflection of a person, but it’s never only about my own values – it’s also about me sharing learned values over time. Whether it’s a brand I'm associating with or a creative who I want to support, you could say that I'm always still trying to piece ‘myself’ together. But I like that ongoing transformation – it keeps my personal journey fresh and exciting.”

Your career just keeps going from strength to strength. How do you keep yourself creatively inspired and motivated?

“The good thing about working in fashion is that there’s never a moment where someone isn’t teaching you something about their artform – everyone has such a strong expertise. That constant exposure is hard to come by, so I always try to absorb as much as I can.”

Crafted from 92% responsible materials, it is our most conscious winter collection ever.
