June 18th, Milan. Tonight, Stella McCartney presented her new Women’s Spring 2019 and Men’s Spring Summer 2019 collections together in Milan’s Magenta neighbourhood, hot on the heels of the hugely successful opening of her new flagship store at 23 Old Bond Street in London.
The designer returned to the city 4 years since her last visit to close Milan Men’s Fashion Week with a garden party presentation. The collections played off the relationship between the Stella McCartney woman and man, celebrating Stella’s irreverent style, showcased in the 25 looks presented on models in playful summertime themed vignettes. Embracing the spirit of the collections the event was complete with lawn bowling, horse shoe game and a World Cup viewing of the England and Tunisia match. Meanwhile guests enjoyed pizzas and spritzes with exclusive entertainment just for Stella by up-and-coming London acts; songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Pyke, British rapper Nadia Rose and a DJ set by Fabienne.

The Women’s Spring 2019 collection hits the quintessential Stella codes; masculine tailoring, delicate lace, unexpected prints and a touch of animal skin-free-skin in a color palette that celebrates spring, with pinks, blues, sand and summery white. Staying true to the brand’s commitment to sustainability, Stella introduces a transparent PVC-free material into accessories. Translucent heels are embellished with pearls and studs whilst loafers are worn low for ease. Variations of the monogram logo appear in each bag collection and the newly developed solvent-free polyurethane transparent material as well as on Eclypse and Loop sneakers.
For the men’s Spring Summer 2019 collection a mood of British traditions, ageless modernity and an effortless silhouette is reinforced. While a playful bohemian feel is introduced, bringing a seasonal attitude into the wardrobe of the Stella McCartney man. Cruelty-free classic loafers and bohemian feel sneakers are introduced this season alongside bags and accessories comprised of recycled polyester and alter-nappa featuring a perforated Stella McCartney logo, scarf prints and humorous slogans. Patchworks and prints echo the ready to wear in tote bags and striking fanny packs.
The Women’s Spring 2019 collection will be available in stores starting November, while the Men’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection will be available from December onwards. Stella will show her Women’s Summer 2019 collection during Paris Fashion Week on October 1st, 2019.
