Welcoming in the Year of the Rabbit 2023

This Lunar New Year, we welcome in the Year of the Rabbit. Celebrated across Asia, the holiday marks the end of another lunar cycle – centring around themes of togetherness, health and prosperity.

South Koreans celebrate chuseok, while Vietnam the occasion is known as Tết. In China, it is also known as the Spring Festival and welcomes what the season brings – harvests and fresh starts. Collectively, the holiday is a time for renewal, reflection and new beginnings.

Inspired by the Year of the Rabbit and aligned with our conscious luxury ethos and a love for animals, we Stellabrate new beginnings with a limited-edition Lunar New Year capsule collection. Featuring an adorable, playful rabbit character, the cruelty-free edit makes a bold statement for Mother Earth’s creatures – with organic cotton pieces emblazoned with the slogan: ‘FLORA NOT ANGORA’.

This Lunar New Year falls on 22 January 2023, honouring a traditionally ceremonial day dedicated to praying to gods and ancestors for a bountiful harvest season. In Chinese culture, rabbits represent the moon because lunar shadows supposedly resemble a bunny.

Those born in the Year of the Rabbit are quiet, kind and strong. It is thought that they possess great reasoning skills and a fine attention to detail. Sociable and confident, the Rabbit enjoys a carefree life outside of routine and rhythm.
