Stella McCartney x Glastonbury 2022 upcycled vest remixes a classic
After a two-year absence, iconic British festival Glastonbury is returning on 24 June with a line-up including living legends like Paul McCartney and Diana Ross, alongside a new generation of talent such as Kendrick Lamar and Olivia Rodrigo.
Bringing together the worlds of music and fashion, we celebrate the occasion with a limited-edition unisex vest. All proceeds will support War Child’s Emergency Fund, aiding children affected by the war in Ukraine and other conflicts.
The rare vests are modelled by Mikey Mendoza, who is shot and styled by Mina Galán – both of whom were part of our Pride 2022 campaign. Each is an exclusive collector’s items, having been upcycled from pieces created for Glastonbury 2007 – featuring psychedelic airbrushed designs of nature inspired by Paul and Linda McCartney’s 1970s festival looks.
A recent warehouse audit revealed several unsold boxes of them, which we repurposed as part of our zero-waste ambitions. Bringing these sought-after pieces into the now, a mushroom motif has been added to the back referencing our Summer 2022 campaign and its theme of fungi are the future.
Stella has a storied history at Glastonbury, both as a festival goer herself as well as dressing friends in attendance and performing artists. The stage look she designed for American musician Billie Eilish will be featured in a retrospective at this year’s event.
The Stella McCartey x Glastonbury 2022 limited-edition vest is available to purchase now exclusively at the Glastonbury online store.
