Stella McCartney Kids at the Summer 2023 runway show
Celebrating conscious fashion today protecting Mother Earth for tomorrow, Stella McCartney Kids from our friends and family attended the Summer 2023 ready-to-wear presentation. Our most responsible collection to date was presented at the Centre Pompidou during Paris Fashion Week, with the next generation sat front row. As models floated down the runway in new-season styles, the children snapped playful photos with disposable cameras – adding their own ideas and sense of self to this memorable moment, whilst wearing Stella McCartney Kids Autumn Winter 2022 pieces.
Inspired by the youthful rebelliousness of legendary Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, we invited Stella Kids to be part of our movement to ‘CHANGE THE HISTORY’ – taking a stand for our animal friends and planet. Posters with Nara's punk-political slogans were given to them, cheekily turning the Summer 2023 runway show into a playful demonstration.
Before the presentation, Stella Kids experienced the full backstage buzz as designers added their final touches to the collection. Twelve-year-old influencer Jazzy Guerra and 13-year-old student journalist Diana Mynzhanova were our Stella Kids reporters, interviewing models and guests including Gigi and Bella Hadid, Poppy Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, as well as Jaden Smith, Jerry Seinfeld and Stella herself.
Aligned with our nature-positive ethos, Jazzy and Diana asked a series of conscious questions – ranging from ‘If you could be an animal, which would you be and why?’ and ‘What does fashion mean to you?’ They also asked them to take a signature Stellfie, which involved looking at the camera and playfully shouting ‘Stelllaaa!’
Rounding out the full runway experience, Stella Kids struck a pose for the camera wearing Autumn Winter 2022 signature styles. Stella boys rocked organic cotton tracksuits with racing theme stripes, whilst girls brought the fun in neon pops of colours on knitted jumpers and forest-friendly viscose dresses.
