DKMS is a not for profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders. The organisation recruits bone marrow donors to provide a second chance at life and supports patients from day one of their diagnoses. Through raising awareness and empowering people in their communities, schools and companies, the organisation aims to register as many potential blood stem cell donors as possible. With more than 7 million registered donors globally, DKMS is the world’s largest donor centre. It costs DKMS $65 to register each new donor, however this cost is not required from its registrants. Instead, DKMS rely on individual, foundation and corporate contributions to help keep registration free so they can sign up as many people as possible.
