The Winter 2021 Show

The Winter 2021 Show is a joyful return to glamour

The Winter 2021 collection embodies a collective yearning among Stella women to get dressed up and go out, inspired by D is for Desire from the McCartney A to Z Manifesto. Blending fantasy and reality, pieces pair heritage, glamour and sport to joyfully elevate the everyday with extravagance.

Shot by Mert and Marcus, models wear maximalist pieces in a minimal setting – exploring a celebratory escapism through eccentric archetypes experimenting with light and texture, playfully combining clashing prints and unexpected pairings of volume, silhouette and material. Bringing a conscience to the fashion industry, 77% of the collection is made with sustainable materials.

Vegan and cruelty-free Winter 2021 bags playfully oscillate across sizes and shape, including smaller, spherical versions of the Frayme bag. The Hobo bag also returns as a mini round edition with an exaggerated woven strap as well as a larger tote. The Maxi Falabella is seen in new colourways, with an entirely recyclable aluminium chain.

New are Chelsea duck boots, crafted with a solvent-free, biodegradable sole. Similarly, the Groove over-the-knee boot has a utilitarian duck toe and a block heel created from recycled ABS plugs.

In ready to wear, a vibrant and youthful palette energises the season’s exuberance – grounded by an edit of classic neutrals. PVC-free sequins and glitter on lurex glimmer alongside heritage dogtooth, embodying a dual spirit of glamour and utility.

Statement partywear pieces are paired with timeless staples, expressed through psychedelic prints taking cues from London club culture, fitted lurex and Alter Mat sequins delivering a desirable impracticality. Youthfulness comes from ruched, bodycon and knotted dresses with cut-out details in a comfortable stretch satin made from forest-friendly viscose, a new sustainable innovation.

Dogtooth honours Stella’s British heritage across menswear-inspired outerwear and elegant cocoon coats. Hybrid pieces blend the pattern with sporty regenerated nylon, while solid black jackets and coats are made from regenerative wool. Styled under bombers, tailoring mixes and matches jackets with athletic zipped trousers, tracksuit bottoms and brightly coloured skirts.

Key this season are cropped and oversized bombers, a dichotomy of femininity and masculinity in a silky regenerated nylon and ECONYL®. Continuing this aesthetic are trousers with zips and a sportswear edge, patchwork jackets and lumberjack dresses with contrast ribbing. Knitwear is especially bright and light, graphically played out through coordinated geometric separates and well as head-to-toe popcorn 3D knits created in stretch forest-friendly viscose.

Winter 2021 eyewear includes heart-shaped sunglasses, winking towards glam-kitsch and made with bio-acetate and bio-lenses using renewable, natural materials – reducing the need for petroleum-based plastic.
