Stella McCartney opens Tokyo flagship store at Miyuki Dori in the heart of the iconic Aoyama district reflecting the world of Stella McCartney within an intimate, personal and architectural atmosphere carrying the brand’s luxury women ready-to-wear, accessories and kids collections.

Contained within 170 square meters over 3 floors within a cantilevered woven mesh white cube façade made of aluminium, the new location incorporates the Stella McCartney store design concept using simple and natural materials combined with contrasting sculptural details. Street facing windows introduce a new concept featuring full sized digital projections with curated original content. The principle store material and utilized throughout the space, concrete mixed with Japanese aggregates in different formats including: ribbed wall panels, rough free standing fixtures and smooth coated floor panels.

The shop’s light and airy first floor level is dedicated to ready-to-wear that famously play on masculine and feminine on suspended steel rails. Accessories such as the popular Falabella are displayed on plinths, concrete shelving and abstract reliefs throughout the ground floor level. The basement level houses the kids collection on sculptural rails which are worked into vibrant primary pop colours with rubber shaped ball accents to express the fun, modern and playful collection celebrating the spirit and energy of kids today. Completing the space, fitting rooms play on humour featuring google eyes pendants in bright colours and recycled foam.

Stella McCartney’s first location in Tokyo opened in 2008 and has been relocated to the new Aoyama location. The brand also operates a freestanding location in Japan at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo and is also additionally available domestically at Ginza Mitsukoshi, Isetan Shinjuku, Matsuya Ginza, Hankyu Umeda, Iwataya and Yokohama Takashimaya.
