Stella McCartney has designed the official T-shirts for Red Nose Day 2013 featuring icons including The Beatles, Tommy Cooper and Marilyn Monroe.
Red Nose Day is a UK televised event and the main fundraising initiative for British charity, Comic Relief, founded in 1985 by script writer Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry. The charity aims to bring positive and lasting change in the lives of the most vulnerable people and communities in the UK and Africa by investing in initiatives that address their immediate needs as well as tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.
The 2013 T-shirts have been entirely manufactured in Africa with 100% of the cotton sourced from Fairtrade certified, organic cotton co-operatives in Mali. This ensures that all cotton is pesticide and GM free and a fair price to farmers working in developing countries.
Shot by photographers Mary McCartney and Helena Christensen, the 2013 campaign features a host of supporters including Kate Moss and David Walliams.
The collection is available in TK Maxx stores across the UK and online. All profits from each sale are spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives in Africa and in the UK.
