STELLA MCCARTNEY ANNOUNCES RETAIL EXPANSION IN CHINA AND CELEBRATES SPRING SUMMER 2015 COLLECTIONS

JULY 18, 2014, BEIJING. Stella McCartney continues retail expansion in China with the announcement of the opening two future directly operated stores in China. In October the designer will open a second freestanding shop in Beijing at Shin Kong Place at the CBD Huamao Business Circle and will follow with her first store in Chengdu’s Daci Temple in November.

To celebrate the World of Stella McCartney, the designer is hosting a cocktail party at the Shichahai Club, a historic landmark building in the Xicheng area near the Forbidden City built in Imperial Chinese style during the Qing Dynasty. The presentation highlights the Spring 2015 mainline ready-to-wear and accessory collections and the Spring-Summer 2015 lingerie, kids and adidas by Stella McCartney collections.

This is the first time the designer is showcasing all her collection categories in one presentation wherein looks are shown on models in scenarios and in action: daywear, tailoring, denim, eveningwear, accessories and lingerie are featured in different rooms. Meanwhile the Stella McCartney kids collection is illustrated in fun and playful activities, while the adidas by Stella McCartney is featured in a performance demonstration of spin, yoga, run, and studio.

Currently Stella McCartney operates 3 freestanding locations in China: Parkview in Beijing, Reel Mall and IAPM in Shanghai and distributed in Lane Crawford, Joyce and IT in China. Additionally, a dedicated adidas by Stella McCartney collection freestanding store just opened this month at the World Trade Center in Beijing, the first adidas by Stella McCartney standalone store in Asia. The collections are also available at www.stellamccartney.com since January 2014.

Frederick Lukoff, President and C.E.O of Stella McCartney comments:

“We are looking forward to strengthen our rapid growth with the openings of new directly operated stores in Beijing and Chengdu later this year and celebrate the World of Stella McCartney for the first time in China during Stella’s visit.”
