Stella McCartney Unveils Winter 2013 Ad Campaign
London, July 19, 2013. Stella McCartney unveils winter 2013 ad campaign images today. The new ad campaign features models from her Winter runway show Suvi Koponen and Chiharu Okunugi photographed in London by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Capturing a sense of humour with a touch of British heritage, the striking images play on the contrast of the winter collection amidst the background of a swimming pool, while a London street scene features graphic symbols taken from British road signs.
Styled by Stella McCartney herself, the ads depict Chiharu on a street corner in an all-white layered look and solid ankle shoes with a deep-tread biodegradable sole, while a second image shows Suvi in a heavy purple coat partly submerged in a swimming pool. The ad campaign also introduces the new Beckett handbag as a shoulder bag which can be folded and flat packed or a tote, made of eco faux nappa which uses natural vegetable oil coating which is less harmful to the environment.
The campaign will run four versions in single page and double page spreads and will break in the September issues of titles including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, Elle, V and Interview as well as other international titles in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and China.
