STELLA MCCARTNEY OPENS SECOND TOKYO STORE IN ROPPONGI HILLS
April 3, 2013. Stella McCartney opens her second Tokyo store in Roppongi Hills. The 127 square metre space reflects the world of Stella McCartney using simple and natural materials contrasted with sculptural details. Illustrating her signature style combination of sharpness and femininity, the store’s interior also reflects an intimate, personal and architectural atmosphere. The brand’s first location in Tokyo in Aoyama opened in 2008.
The new store mirrors the Stella McCartney store design concept with large panoramic window façade accented by brass back lit signage. Inside the store, a ceramic tile wall lines a side of the shop with brass and marble inset accessory shelving, while a bespoke oak parquet floor in a herringbone pattern in hues of pink, guides the customer throughout the store. Stella’s ready-to-wear designs that play on masculine and feminine are displayed on fixed and freestanding brass sculptural rails installations. Handbags including the popular Falabella are displayed on a stone and marble relief wall. At the rear of the store, a dedicated Stella McCartney Kids wall celebrates the spirit and energy of kids today as the sculptural brass rail installations are reworked into vibrant primary pop colours with rubber shaped ball accents to express the fun, modern and playful collection. Playing with humour and whimsy; fitting rooms feature amusing abstract perspex pendants in bright colours and various random shapes.
The new store will carry the brand’s luxury women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie and kids collections. The Stella McCartney collections are also available within Japan at the flagship store in Aoyama, as well as shop-in-shops in Mitsukoshi and Matsuya, both in Ginza, Isetan in Shinjuku and Hankyu in Osaka.
