The Hammer Museum is located in the Westwood district of Los Angeles. Founded to house the private collection of Armand Hammer, it opened in 1990 and has since presented key single-artist and thematic exhibitions of historical and contemporary art produced by its curators or prepared in collaboration with other institutions. The Hammer also has roughly ten Hammer Projects each year, offering international and local artists with a laboratory-like surrounding to create new work or to show existing work in a fresh context. Stella McCartney has lent support to K.A.M.P. (Kids Art Museum Project), an event imagined by artists for kids. Painters, sculptors, photographers and other creative pros led inventive workshops and experiences for kids of all ages in the carefree atmosphere of the Hammer courtyard. All K.A.M.P. proceeds support the Museum¹s growing Hammer Kids public programming. Find out more
